Michael Johnson, co-founder and chief revenue officer (CRO) at Zoomo, presents the company’s light electric cargo bike for the last mile.
Zoomo’s e-bikes are designed for small parcels and distances. The bikes reach a maximum speed of 25km/h – meaning they are still classed as bikes despite their substantial parcel capacity. At the show, Johnson pointed out that, on average, vans are only one-quarter full when out for delivery. Meanwhile, Zoomo’s e-bikes have one-quarter of the space of a van and are one-quarter of the price. Additionally, users don’t need a license to drive them, which extends the field of workers for delivery companies. Johnson also highlighted that the solution can increase productivity by approximately 50% because the bikes are easier to get in and out of, which in turn leads to a decrease in ‘hustle time’ between deliveries.
