Japan Airlines has delivered fresh fish from local islands in Nagasaki to a restaurant in Tokyo with the assistance of drones.
The flight took place on February 19, with the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) carrying 20kg of fresh fish from Kamigoto airport to Saikai, a distance of 35km.
The shipment was then transported to Nagasaki Airport by truck and loaded onto a Japan Airlines passenger flight to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. The fish was served at a restaurant in Tokyo on the same day.
The UAV was a Yamaha FAZER-R G2 with a flight range of 90km and capable of carrying 35kg.
