The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has added 18 new trucks to its fleet to offer enhanced delivery services for bulk items to the government and private sector.
According to PHLPost, adding these new vehicles to its existing mail vans will strengthen its position in the logistics market, particularly in last-mile parcel delivery services.
“The newly acquired postal vehicles will beef up the e-commerce and logistics delivery business of the postal service. With these brand-new trucks, there is a bigger chance and opportunity for PHLPost to enter the e-commerce and logistics market this year,” said Postmaster General Luis Carlos.
PHLPost’s ongoing fleet upgrades support its ‘Postal Trinity’ program, which includes the establishment of barangay postal stations nationwide to provide efficient last-mile delivery, reaching out to far-flung areas of the country; the implementation of the new seven-digit alphanumeric zip code PH from the old four-digit (which will standardize the addressing system in the country); and the Kartero app for real-time system visibility to modernize the delivery and efficiency of PHLPost’s mail operations.
