Postal operator bpost has deployed 20 electric vans to make emission-free deliveries to Eupen and Kettenis in East Belgium. The initiative is in line with bpost’s goal to roll out zero-emission services in 25 Belgian cities by 2025.
Alongside the green deliveries, bpost has already launched emission-free ecozones in Mechelen, Leuven, Namur, Mons and Louvain-la-Neuve, where parcels and letters are delivered by electric vehicles, augmented by a dense network of pickup points (post offices, post points, parcel points) and parcel lockers.
Ulrich Rauw, mail center manager, bpost, said, “We are proud that letters and parcels are now delivered emission-free to inhabitants of Eupen and Kettenis. It’s our conviction that inhabitants will welcome this environmentally responsible initiative. Slashing emissions leads to healthier air for everyone.”
