Last year, Croation Post reduced total greenhouse gas emissions by 11,600 metric tons, an 18% decrease compared to the previous year, through the electrification of its fleet, energy-efficient buildings and optimized logistics processes.
The post managed to achieve this reduction in emissions, despite handling larger volumes, thanks to the use of electric vehicles, bicycles and on-foot deliveries.
According to the post, its postal workers covered 14.5 million ‘green kilometers’ last year – an increase of 9.3 million green kilometers compared to 2023 – which accounts for almost 30% of the entire 53.1 million kilometers traveled in 2024.
For 2025, Croatian Post plans to purchase additional electric vehicles and has already launched an eco-driving project with 60 trainers educating 2,200 drivers on environmentally friendly and energy-efficient driving practices. So far, 30% of drivers have completed the training, and the first results are already showing fuel consumption has decreased by an average of 11%, directly contributing to reduced CO2 emissions and improved efficiency.
