Drugstore retailer BIPA is testing the Post Loop reusable packaging service from Austrian Post in its online store as part of its work toward sustainability and environmental protection.
Selected BIPA customers will be able to receive products in reusable packaging until the end of the year and will be able to return the packaging to receive a BIPA voucher.
“With BIPA and the REWE Group, another strong shipping customer is testing our reusable packaging and Post Loop,” said Sonja Aboulez, business area manager parcel Austria, Österreichische Post. “This not only makes the transportation of products a lot more sustainable, but also the packaging solution itself. BIPA customers can thus directly contribute to a sustainable shopping experience.”
With Post Loop, everything remains the same for online shoppers until they receive their goods. Instead of throwing the empty packaging in the bin, it can be folded to the size of a letter and returned via letterboxes, Post Partners, post offices or self-service stations. At the return point, a QR code on the packaging must be scanned with the RE-ZIP app; this confirms the return. BIPA will send its customers a voucher as a small thank you for their return.
“Sustainability is firmly anchored in BIPA’s corporate values and will remain a focus. For this reason, the test run with Post Loop is another important step towards a sustainable future. We are delighted to have a strong partner at our side in Austrian Post and are very excited to see how the reusable shipping parcels will be received by our customers,” commented Gaia Fiordispini, BIPA sustainability manager.
