Chronopost, a French specialist in the express delivery of parcels weighing less than 30kg, has appointed Jean-Gilles Henaut to head up its Shop2Shop division, set up in response to the growing demand in the out-of-home parcel delivery market.
Shop2Shop’s services are available to private individuals and small businesses via a specific portal, as well as via certain C-to-C platforms for second-hand clothes and accessories, which are very popular in France. A new, highly competitive B2C Pickup Point service is currently being developed, which will further complement the broadest range of parcel delivery services available on the market.
Jean-Gilles Henaut, commenting on his appointment, said, “The fundamental principle behind our success is that we take full advantage of Chronopost’s industrial facilities by pooling the network’s resources, which provides excellent territorial coverage with around 100 sites and the 15,000 parcel-collection points thanks to our partner network, Pickup. This allows us to diversify while reducing infrastructure costs, and thus provide more competitive service offers.”
After spending two years with the Toshiba Group, Henaut joined Chronopost in 1996 as business manager for the Northern region of France. He became head of sales for the Eastern Region in 2001, before being appointed regional sales director for North-Eastern France in 2006 and then national sales director in 2014.
