The International Post Corporation (IPC) has reported that Holger Winklbauer will succeed Herbert-Michael Zapf as the new chief executive of the IPC. Zapf is stepping down after 10 years in the role.
Winklbauer, who has served in a variety of roles in the logistics industry including CEO of DHL Global Forwarding in the Netherlands, said, “I am delighted to be assuming the leadership of IPC at this critical time for the postal industry. IPC has a vital role to play in supporting posts in their expansion into new growth areas, especially e-commerce. The opportunity for IPC and its members is immense and I look forward to being part of the worldwide team that is delivering benefits for postal customers.”
Dag Mejdell, IPC’s chairman, added, “Holger brings a successful track-record and great experience to the role. I have every confidence he will build upon IPC’s achievements and develop the company for the future. I would also like to pay tribute to Herbert-Michael who, over the past 10 years, has positioned IPC as a respected partner for the postal sector.”
Herbert-Michael Zapf, who will hand-over to Winklbauer at the end of July 2016, said, “It has been an honor to lead IPC for the past 10 years. The role is both challenging and satisfying. I know that Holger will take the company forward to new heights in the postal industry and beyond.”
