The board of directors of bpost has unanimously decided to appoint Philippe Dartienne, the company’s current chief financial officer, as CEO ad interim of bpost group.
Koen Aelterman has been nominated chief financial officer ad interim to replace Dartienne during his time as CEO ad interim. The leadership reshuffle follows the compliance review that began in October 2022, which related to the concession for the distribution of newspapers in Belgium and which indicated there had been violations of the company’s policies and applicable laws.
The company’s board and CEO subsequently agreed that the CEO should temporarily step aside pending the review. The board then decided to temporarily entrust the powers of daily management to Henri de Romrée, CEO of e-Logistics North-America. The bpost board of directors has since received an update on the compliance review, which has resulted in the continuation of the original CEO stepping aside.
Given that the review is ongoing and in view of the coming end of year peak, which is crucial for bpost group, especially in North America, the board of directors and Henri de Romrée have agreed that de Romrée returns to his function of CEO of e-Logistics North-America.
