In preparation for the peak holiday season, Australia Post is recruiting 3,000 seasonal casuals with a specific focus on finding people with skills and experience to help meet the surge in demand.
The post is looking for forklift operators, van and truck drivers as well as freight handlers and parcel sorters to fill roles across the delivery network. Roles are available in all states and territories, with the highest demand in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. Each role will be critical in delivering for customers during the very busy cyber sales period and lead up to Christmas.
Australia Post executive general manager, people and culture, Sue Davies commented, “As we approach our busiest time of year, we’re looking to bolster our workforce to ensure we can meet increased demand and maintain the high level of service Australians expect from Australia Post.
“Last year, we delivered almost 100 million parcels in the lead up to Christmas, thanks to the help of our seasonal casuals who worked alongside our existing team members. We’d love to hear from people who have a valid forklift or truck license, as well as people looking to work in parcel processing, deliveries and freight handling.
“Joining our team not only provides the opportunity to be a part of a supportive and dynamic environment but also allows you to earn extra money and to spread the merry this Christmas. Working in a seasonal casual role can also create opportunities to work with Australia Post beyond the end of the year. We have many team members who started as a seasonal casual and are still part of our team many years later.”
