A new Enterprise Agreement (EA2024) that will deliver a guaranteed 12.5% compounding pay increase for 30,000 eligible staff members over the next three years (4% each year) has been approved by Australia Post’s employees.
Following extensive consultation with team members and unions, the vast majority (89%) of those who voted were in favor of the agreement, according to the postal operator.
Australia Post executive general manager people and culture Sue Davies commented, “We were focused on reaching an agreement that offers our people certainty and security while we work to implement reforms to our delivery and retail networks and build a more financially sustainable business.
“This investment in our people recognizes the crucial role our team members play in putting these changes in place, so we can keep providing meaningful jobs and ensure Australia Post continues to be an employer of choice and a great place to work.”
The EA2024 was formally endorsed by the Communication, Electrical and Plumbing Union (CEPU) Communications Division (CWU), which represents the majority of Australia Post team members covered by the Enterprise Agreement. Australia Post will work with the CWU over the life of the agreement on developing its employee value proposition to support its people and customer needs.
EA2024 will now be lodged with the Fair Work Commission for approval.
