Sorting technology developer Fives has announced a new partnership with AutoStore – a robotic, cube-based, automated storage and retrieval system.
As part of its development strategy, Fives is adding a new dimension to its business in Europe, thanks to the rapid implementation of AutoStore solutions to support growth in the retail, e-commerce and third-party logistics (3PL) sectors.
The partnership will complement Fives’ existing technology portfolio while providing Norwegian-firm AutoStore with an extra boost in the French, Spanish and Italian markets.
AutoStore’s design facilitates a wide variety of cost-effective solutions, from small standalone systems to large applications with more than 100,000 bins as part of an overall logistics or production facility.
Through its Smart Automation Solutions Division, Fives will be able to market, configure, install and maintain the AutoStore system as a subsystem or as a standalone solution.
Massimiliano Fochetti, global executive vice president, sales and marketing for Fives’ Smart Automation Solutions Division, said, “We continue to grow at a strong rate, and we are therefore delighted to be partnering with AutoStore, a recognized key player in the industry, as it will enable us to expand our market presence, with the global support of both teams.”
Karl Johan Lier, CEO of AutoStore, said, “AutoStore is delighted to bring on Fives as a partner to strengthen our network of distributors and system integrators. We have great expectations for the partnership, and especially welcome Fives’ strong presence in Southern Europe.”
