Following the completion of its pilot, PostNord will roll out its outdoor parcel locker network all over Finland to deliver more convenience to its end users.
According to the companies, the pilot demonstrated that the Infinity parcel lockers could withstand all weather conditions, and that end users found the app-operated locker easy to use. The new parcel locker network, which is primarily an outdoor network, is intended to complement the existing service point network which also includes access to indoor SwipBox Classic lockers, which have been running since 2018. While the new Infinity network is a closed network, PostNord Finland is considering opening it up to other carriers as well. The Infinity software and eco-system enable more carriers to use the same parcel locker.
Johanna Starck, CEO of PostNord Finland, said, “With the success of our existing network in mind, it was natural for us to look to SwipBox for an outdoor solution that could provide increased convenience for our end users. Not only does an outdoor network allow us to offer 24/7 access in convenient locations, with Infinity we also get a parcel locker that is extremely flexible and can easily be moved around to meet changing needs in our OOH network. And at the end of day, flexibility is one of the most important features in today’s market – because if we don’t meet customers’ needs, we won’t have any business.”
Kasper Cort, CCO of SwipBox, said, “Sometimes you need to be one step ahead of end users and offer solutions they do not know that they need before the product is launched. The app-operated Infinity locker is an example of this. It’s always interesting to observe people’s behavior when they’re introduced to a new product. Although we were confident that the Finnish end users would embrace this purely app-operated parcel locker, we’re of course happy to see the high level of satisfaction with it. We believe this is the way forward and are happy that customers all over the world agree.”
