The State Post Bureau of China has reported that more than 641 million parcels were delivered across the country during the eight-day Spring Festival, which ran from February 10-17.
According to a news report from China Daily, the daily average delivery volume increased by 82.1% compared with last year and a total of 1,080,000,000 parcels were collected during the festival.
Between January 26 and February 17, the parcel delivery sector collected 5,660,000,000 parcels, up 30.8% compared to last year. Meanwhile, the industry delivered 5,990,000,000 parcels, a year-on-year increase of 21%.
The Bureau said, “The growth trend in the volume of parcels has demonstrated China’s smooth logistics system, even during the holiday. It also reflects the vitality of Chinese consumption.”
