New data from Branchenradar.com Marktanalyse GmbH has confirmed that Austrian Post continues to lead the parcel sector in Austria, growing its share by 2% last year to 56%. This equates to 224 million of the total 397 million parcels delivered in the country in 2024.
According to Austrian Post, its parcel volumes increased by 12% in 2024 compared to 2023, meaning the company is growing faster than the market and recording the strongest parcel growth of all domestic CEP providers in the country.
“Two out of three private customer parcels in Austria are delivered by Austrian Post, and we are proud of that,” confirmed Peter Umundum, deputy CEO, board member for parcel and logistics, Österreichische Post. “We were also able to increase our share of business customer parcels and now have a 56% share of the overall domestic market. This confirms that we are on the right track by investing in both quality and capacity.”
The postal operator grew its market share of B2C and C2C parcels by 2% to 65% last year thanks to stable business from European retailers as well as e-commerce players from Asia and the USA. Despite the B2B parcel stagnating in Austria in 2024, Austrian Post increased its market share by 1% to 31%.
