A total of 508 million parcels were delivered by Austrian Post in 2024, a rise of 7% on the same time last year, and domestic parcels alone grew by 12% to 224 million parcels compared to 2023.
On an average day in 2024, Austrian Post transported around 800,000 parcels throughout Austria, with this figure rising to over one million parcels in December. The daily peak was reached at the beginning of December with over 1.56 million parcels.
“Half a billion parcels is an absolute record!” enthused Peter Umundum, deputy CEO, and board member for parcel and logistics, Österreichische Post AG. “As a group, we transported 508 million parcels, 224 million of them in Austria alone. 10 years ago, the figure was just under 100 million parcels, and since then volumes have increased fivefold. This impressively underlines our international market presence and the trust of our customers.”
Austrian Post’s subsidiaries in South East and Eastern Europe, Turkey and Azerbaijan together transported around 284 million parcels, and the logistics group as a whole delivered to 150 million recipients in 11 countries last year.
