Japanese delivery service Yamato Holdings and Chronopost, a French express delivery specialist and DPD Group member, have entered a partnership to share knowledge on the frozen and chilled transport market.
The two companies hope to improve delivery quality and expand the cross-border frozen and chilled delivery markets in both Japan and France.
In recent years, products from the countries have been recognized worldwide for their quality, notably in restaurants and with the wealthy, making it necessary to enhance the safety and quality standards to facilitate further expansion of the linked transport network.
Yamato Group started the nationwide door-to-door frozen and chilled delivery service for small parcels in 1988, which contributed to the development of ready-order and direct-from-farm culture. This service has been expanded to the overseas markets in Shanghai and Hong Kong, China; Singapore; and Malaysia since 2010.
Chronopost launched Chronofresh in 2015, a nationwide chilled and frozen transport network that provides high quality express delivery service. Since its launch, Chronofresh has already attracted many French B2B and B2C customers, and is opened in Europe with the deployment of the first parcels to Spain and Belgium.
The agreement means the two companies will share their independent knowledge and contribute to the expansion of the market worldwide. They will also set up new high quality standards and procedures to enhance the frozen and chilled delivery markets in Japan and France.
