Swiss Post has announced it ‘Swiss Post of tomorrow’ business strategy for 2025-2028 that will see it invest CHF 100m (US$109m) in its branch network, integrate its digital and physical services and continue to empower in its employees.
In line with changing consumer demands, Swiss Post will adapt its branches with 600 self-operated branches forming the backbone of its network. Swiss Post will convert these self-operated branches into service centers, partnering with banks, health insurers, insurance companies and public authorities.
At locations where it can no longer continue operating its own branches due to reduced demand, Swiss Post will seek follow-on solutions such as the ‘branches with partners’ format or home service.
“Swiss Post will grow in a targeted and sustainable manner in line with market requirements, ensuring that it can maintain its financial independence. Ultimately, this will also help Swiss Post remain attractive to its employees,” commented Roberto Cirillo, Swiss Post CEO.
Swiss Post will further expand its expertise in areas such as goods logistics and is boosting its profile in the advertising market. It also wants to strengthen its mobility services in a targeted way, using flexible and sustainable solutions for business and private customers.
The post will continue to promote digital transformation in Switzerland, offering secure handling of data for all private individuals, companies and public authorities, and will also invest in its emission-free fleet to achieve net zero along the entire value chain by 2024.
“We are working intensively to put Swiss Post on a stronger footing for the future with needs-oriented, forward-looking solutions,” added Cirillo. “To achieve this, we will continue to need motivated and able employees. For this reason, we want to remain an attractive, responsible employer and support our employees so that they can do their best every day.”
