In his opening address at The Delivery Conference in London in the UK, which took place on January 31, 2017, Patrick Wall (left), CEO at MetaPack, called for the industry to join forces to influence future legislation during the Brexit negotiations. He said that it would become a priority to push for acceptable terms and invited all interested parties to join the campaign as a single, strong voice.
In his keynote speech at the event, Wall also appealed for retailers, brands and delivery partners to embrace open, integrated technology platforms that would support a common goal of meeting increasing customer expectations.
This year’s event attracted more than 1,300 UK and international delegates, as well as 46 sponsors and exhibitors. Winners of the Delivery Excellence Awards were also announced during the event and included On the Dot for Best Customer Experience; ASOS for Best Use of Returns; ASOS for Best Cross Border Initiative; DPD for Best Use of Innovation (Carrier Group); and What3Words for Best Use of Innovation (Market Group).
Chris Hoskin, head of marketing at MetaPack, said, “This one day event packs a heavy punch when it comes to delivering information, insight and inspiration. Delegates have enjoyed presentations from leaders in the retail, brand and carrier sectors designed to provide powerful food for thought, and they have had the opportunity to discuss the themes and events that are influencing us not just now, but into the future.”
