FedEx has opened a cutting-edge facility in Málaga, Spain, that increases its operational space by more than 50% and triples sorting capacity in the country, enhancing service efficiency and regional growth.
The facility includes 3,244m2 of warehouse space and an additional 300m2 of modern office space across two floors. Equipped with exterior parking and enhanced infrastructure, the facility is able to handle up to 1,500 parcels per hour.
The station also features 29 loading docks, including seven specifically designed for trailers, trucks and vans, further streamlining the processing of larger shipments.
“The new Málaga station is an important investment in our operational capabilities, allowing us to handle greater volumes and improve efficiency, both within the warehouse and along our distribution routes,” said Ian Silverton, managing director of ground operations, FedEx Spain and Portugal.
“Strategically positioned with easy access to Málaga’s major motorways, this new facility increases our operational footprint and enhances our service offering for customers.”
FedEx Express has an extensive presence in Spain, with five air gateways in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia and Vitoria, two road hubs in Madrid and Barcelona, and 26 operational stations nationwide.
