Swiss Post has announced the acquisition of Balsthal-based logistics software company Eoscop, which will enable the post to standardize and develop its planning software for specific logistics processes.
According to Swiss Post, the goods logistics market is growing and the company handles the entire logistics process from A-Z for many customers, which means it requires skilled workers and expertise to help it plan its various assignments. The acquisition of Eoscop on October 4, 2022, will enable Swiss Post to achieve improvements in this area through the use of Eoscop’s specific digital applications that have been developed for modern logistics.
Johannes Cramer, head of logistics services at Swiss Post, said, “Eoscop understands perfectly what we need. We’ve been working together for many years. The acquisition provides us with an important tool for standardizing our planning software across the entire goods logistics sector. By having Eoscop’s specialists under one roof, we can also respond even faster to the specific requirements of our business customers.”
The employment contracts for the 20 Eoscop staff affected will remain unchanged and Eoscop will continue to operate as an independent subsidiary of Swiss Post.
