As part of the continuing expansion of the group’s parcels business, DX has opened a new depot in Preston in the UK which will provide additional capacity for the group’s parcel network in the Northwest.
Located on a 1.4-acre site on the Preston Industrial Estate, the facility has excellent transport links, with easy access to both the M6 and M65 motorways. The depot’s opening is expected to reduce stem mileage, carbon emissions, improve operational efficiencies and enhance customer service levels, a key focus for the group.
This latest opening takes the total number of depots in the DX Express network to 41, with eight opened in 2023. This forms part of the ongoing capital investment program in the business, which underpins management’s plans to continue driving the Group’s growth and development.
Paul Ibbetson, CEO of DX Group, commented, “We are pleased to add this new depot in Preston to our DX Express division as part of our continued investment in the business. The new depot will enhance our position in the Northwest, increasing the capacity and capability of our Parcels operation.
“It will deliver further efficiencies to our operations and provide local customer service benefits, always a priority for the Group. It will also lower carbon emissions by reducing stem mileage. We look forward to integrating this new depot into our existing network and continually improving the service that we provide to our customers.”
