Express courier company BRT has opened a new facility in Cessalto, Italy, that features a 4,500m2 warehouse capable of handling 4,000 shipments per day.
The Cessalto facility is located in one of Italy’s most intensive industrial and manufacturing areas, serving the territories of the Treviso, Belluno and Venice provinces and towns on the Venetian and Friulian coast.
The new facility will increase BRT’s business opportunities in the area and improve the efficiency of its entire network in the northeast of Italy. It will also support its customers’ international expansion and the new package handling system will improve the quality and speed of deliveries, according to Stefania Pezzetti, CEO of BRT.
“Cessalto is a strategic hub for the economy of the Veneto region and the entire Northeast. This new branch will allow us to further boost the quality of our services to the companies in the area, to take advantage of new business opportunities and to develop a workforce,” Pezzetti said.
“This new facility is part of our strategy to renew and develop our network and services in order to create an optimal, quality purchasing experience and reduce environmental impact. In fact, its location allows for a reduction in the kilometers traveled by lorries and city vehicles and those traveled by vans in the delivery and collection areas.”
The Cessalto branch can handle any type of product and is equipped with forklifts powered by lithium batteries. It accommodates both Messaging and Parcel vehicles, with a picking sorter for automatic parcel sorting and a handling system designed to manage both current and future volumes.
