Property company FI Real Estate Management (FIREM) has introduced parcel lockers at 11 sites across its UK portfolio with a further four to follow.
A mix of consumer and business parcel lockers are now available for Amazon, InPost and ByBox at FIREM-owned locations including North Point Shopping Centre in Hull and Drayton Manor Business Park in Tamworth.
A total of 280 locker compartments are available to support online shoppers at six of FIREM’s retail and office locations.
The partnership with LockerQuest comes amid increased demand for parcel lockers nationally. Tim Knowles, managing director of FIREM, said, “Partnering with LockerQuest is part of a wider strategic plan to enhance our nationwide network of property assets with easily accessible, secure and flexible solutions.
“The demand for parcel lockers in the UK is growing, with over 15,000 lockers already installed across the UK. We want to offer our tenants, shoppers and the communities we serve with the extra convenience presented by parcel lockers. We’re pleased to be providing a range of both consumer and commercial lockers across 15 FIREM sites this year.”
Jonathan White, CEO of LockerQuest, added, “Our new partnership with FIREM sees multiple locker units, for both consumer and business use, situated close to local communities, town centers or highly-commutable industrial estates. This strategy ensures that the presence of lockers, including Amazon, InPost and ByBox will be as convenient as possible to those living and working in these areas. In addition, this method of collecting and returning goods is more beneficial to the environment, significantly reducing carbon emissions produced within the delivery sector.”
