Nordic postal operator PostNord Finland has unveiled its plans to roll out a national outdoor parcel locker network.
PostNord will use battery-powered, app-operated Infinity Lockers from SwipBox in the rollout, which will begin with a few select cities before being expanded across Finland. PostNord already operates a network of SwipBox lockers at select indoor locations across the country.
Johanna Starck, CEO at PostNord Finland, said, “We are the first to roll out this innovative solution in Finland, bringing new technology to the market. Because they are battery-driven, Infinity parcel lockers can be placed anywhere so we can place them close to where people live, making it as convenient as possible for the public to pick up parcels. The fact that these parcel lockers are operated completely via intuitive apps, and you don’t have to touch a screen, has been a huge plus, especially in these Covid-19 times.”
Mark Yeoman, commercial development manager at SwipBox, added, “We are convinced that PostNord Finland will set up a successful parcel locker network adding convenience for the end users in Finland. We’re really excited about this move and the fact that PostNord has now launched the Infinity network in all Nordic countries.”
