As parcel locker use grows in popularity across Europe, Latvijas Pasts has launched parcel lockers equipped with letterboxes to enable customers to send traditional letters alongside their parcels.
The first blue parcel lockers with the specialized compartments have been launched in Jelgava, Pavilosta and Riga, with the letterbox function being rolled out to all existing outdoor parcel lockers but the end of this summer.
“Our team keeps focusing on developing comprehensive and user-friendly services for the general public, recognizing the fact that sending patterns and delivery methods are changing. Letters and parcels can now be sent at any time of day from one location, which is another step toward customer convenience,” said Jānis Kūliņš, member of the board of Latvijas Pasts.
The postal operator will continue to improve and expand its services this year, with plans to double the number of parcel lockers across Latvia to 400 by the end of 2024. It also intends to enhance the availability of universal postal services, item delivery processes and customer service.
