Estonian logistics firm Omniva has selected three different suppliers to order parcel machines from in future. In total, the company will invest more than 20m (US$23.5m) in the expansion of the Baltic parcel machine network within the next five years.
The chosen companies were Cleveron from Estonia, Keba from Austria, and Hivebox from China. The contracts will be concluded with a term of five years, during which Omniva will acquire new parcel machines for Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, thereby significantly expanding the parcel machine network of the company.
According to Ansi Arumeel, member of the management board of Omniva, the company plans to diversify their network with different types of machines to meet a variety of customer requirements and improve accessibility: “All trends and research in the parcels area show that parcel machines are the preferred way of sending and receiving parcels in the Baltic region. Our task is to make parcel machines as easily accessible as possible.
“We will conclude contracts with three world-class suppliers of parcel machines to allow us flexibility and capability in expanding our parcel machine network to areas we have not reached yet.
“Many settlements have reached out to us saying that they are very interested in having a parcel machine but that their parcel volumes are too small for a large parcel machine. We will hopefully have solutions for them shortly.”
Currently, Omniva has 276 parcel machines in more than 120 cities across the Baltic region, making it the biggest parcel machine network in the area. Omniva Group comprises Eesti Post as the parent company, as well as financial services firm Maksekeskus, and Omniva Lithuania and Omniva Latvia as the subsidiaries. The related company Post11, provides holistic logistics solutions for delivering goods across the world.
