Logistics automation specialist Keba has installed its 2,000th parcel locker for GLS Hungary, continuing the companies’ successful partnership, which began in 2021.
According to Keba, increasing customer demand and new e-commerce trends in several Central and Eastern European countries, as well as the success of a locker network in Slovenia, were key indicators for GLS Hungary to install Keba lockers in Hungary.
Balázs Jászka, head of OOH network at GLS Hungary, explained, “While the majority of our parcels are still delivered directly to homes, we are seeing a significant year-over-year shift in traffic toward parcel lockers as our network expands.”
By offering a parcel locker network, GLS Hungary aims to provide another option for its customers in addition to its ParcelShop network of over 1,050 shops.
Jászka continued, “The combination of parcel shops and parcel lockers offers a practical, versatile and flexible delivery and collection system that ensures we can meet a wide range of requirements and needs. The focus is on increasing customer satisfaction and offering solutions that match ever-changing consumer habits and lifestyles.
