Parcel locker manufacturer InPost has reached a new milestone in international growth having deployed just over 3,000 locker units in the UK.
It follows several partnerships in 2021 including landlords such as Transport for London, Tesco and Westfield, in addition to supporting more than 100 major retailers including Missguided, Boohoo and JD Sport.
The company has approximately 150,000 individual locker compartments available for consumers to send, collect and return parcels, with the majority of city dwellers in London, Birmingham and Manchester now within one mile of a locker.
Jason Tavaria, CEO of InPost UK, said, “This year alone we’ve installed nearly 2,000 parcel lockers across the UK, responding to growing interest from retailers and landlords looking to bolster their environmental performance. Lifestyles and shopping habits have irrevocably changed during the pandemic, and our rapid growth reflects this shift. Consumers demand convenient options that fit around their new working routines, as well as those that prioritize sustainability. Retailers, landlords and consumers alike must work together to encourage more people toward greener delivery services like lockers, and we’re proud to be leading the charge.”
According to InPost, the company is on track to deploy one of the largest automated parcel networks in the UK, with more than 10,000 locker units in operation by 2024.
