Lithuanian Post has installed the first 40 parcel lockers in cities across Latvia and Estonia, enabling customers to easily send and receive parcels.
A total of 750 Unisend parcel lockers will be installed in the Baltic region, with approximately 300 of them in Latvia and Estonia. Lithuanian Post is investing over €4m (US$4.3m) in the project.
“As e-commerce continues to grow and international e-commerce platforms view the Baltic States as a single market, we are ready to become a trusted parcel delivery partner across the region. Already this spring Unisend will be ready to deliver our promise to customers – Send. Receive. Easy,” said Rolandas Zukas, CEO of Lithuanian Post.
Unisend is the new brand name of LP Express, Lithuanian Post’s parcel delivery network. The new brand will be rolled out across in Latvia and Estonia, and will gradually appear this year on more than 430 parcel lockers in Lithuania too.
Currently, 6 out of 10 parcels in Lithuania are delivered via parcel lockers. In the Baltic states, the volume of parcels traveling through parcel lockers is increasing by around 11% annually, mostly due to a rapidly growing e-commerce market.
