Delivery firm Evri has announced that it is launching a state-of-the-art robotic dog for parcel deliveries in the UK, designed to fetch and carry parcels straight to customers’ doors with speed, agility and an impeccable sense of direction.
The robotic dogs will be able to decipher the most efficient routes and handle stairs and inclement weather to ensure parcels are delivered on time and to reduce delivery carbon emissions.
Marcus Hunter, chief technology officer at Evri, explained, “We’re always looking for innovative ways to enhance our delivery experience, and what could be better than a delivery dog to play fetch with those all-important parcels? Our Robo-Dogs are efficient, reliable and any human’s best friend, delivering alongside our couriers. Most importantly, they won’t chew your slippers. This is a game-changer for last-mile delivery, and we can’t wait for customers to see our couriers and their new robotic sidekicks in action.”
