DPD Portugal has partnered with logistics platform Stuart – a DPDgroup startup making its debut in Portugal – to launch a new same-day and scheduled one-hour delivery service in several cities across the country.
DPD Now enables clients to offer customers a one-hour on-demand parcel delivery service for same-day or scheduled deliveries seven days a week, with slots that extend until 10:00pm. Customers can now schedule the day they wish to receive their parcel, customizing the service to fit into their daily routines.
The service is currently available in the areas of Lisbon, Porto, Amadora, Sintra, Cascais, Oeiras and Loures, with plans to gradually extend availability across Portugal. DPD Now will be supported by a multimodal fleet with 250 vehicles, including bicycles, mopeds, cars and vans.
Olivier Establet, CEO of DPD Portugal, said, “It is with great satisfaction that we look forward to this partnership between DPD Portugal and Stuart. This new offer is the result of our vision of the evolution of the options offered at the checkout of online sales sites, in order to correspond to the most demanding consumers who do not want to wait to receive their parcel.
“More than a vision, this is a reality if we take into account the requests of many customers in this regard, as well as the enthusiastic reactions they expressed to us when we were presented with the new offer at first hand,” he said.
Guilherme Conde, general manager of Stuart in Portugal, added, “DPD Portugal is a well-known player in the Portuguese market and, therefore, we are excited about this collaboration and to join forces within our group to offer customers an on-demand, same-day and scheduled one-hour delivery service. We feel energetic about this collaboration and the steps we will make together. We believe the market is getting more and more used to flexibility and faster deliveries and we want to provide a strong value proposition with the service.”
Founded in 2015 and acquired by DPDgroup in 2017, Stuart currently operates in five countries – France, the UK, Spain, Poland and now Portugal – and 150 cities, with services beginning in Italy from May 2022.
