Digital freight forwarder sennder has announced its plans to enter the Romanian market with the launch of a new office in Bucharest.
The new office in Bucharest will add to sennder’s growing presence in Central and Eastern Europe, together with its Polish and Baltic offices. With more than 90,000 drivers and 25,000 transportation companies, Romania is one of the fastest-developing logistics markets in Europe and an essential gateway between Central and Eastern Europe.
Tom Christenson, chief operations officer (COO) at sennder, said, “We are excited to announce our expansion to Romania, one of the largest logistics markets in Europe. Opening this office is an important step to bring our vision of leveraging technology to lead logistics into a sustainable future within the region. As we grow our footprint across Europe, we continue to unlock opportunities for carriers and shippers, enabling more efficient and transparent road logistics in a complex and unpredictable market environment.”
Sennder plans to further expand the team in Bucharest from 11 to 40 employees by the end of the year, with positions in HR, finance and sales.
Bogdan-Gabriel Steliean, senior manager, operations, sennder, said, “The office expansion is a logical next step to bring more density to Europe’s largest network of carriers. With European logistics experiencing volatility, we are looking to shore our position in Central and Eastern Europe with more carriers and shippers. We look forward to being a reliable partner to carriers and shippers in Romania who will benefit from sennder’s digital platform to help mitigate shortcomings in the market.”
Sennder’s mission is to leverage data to create an efficient road freight network. Through its digital platform, sennder directly connects enterprise shippers with small and medium-size trucking companies.
