Wincor Nixdorf has unveiled its newly expanded postal portfolio for counter automation and self-service solutions at Post-Expo 2015 in Paris, including the company’s new counter software TPPostal, its intelligent Drop-Box and Modular Postal Kiosk.
Jürgen Kisters, global industry head postal at Wincor Nixdorf, said, “It’s our goal to support postal service providers with innovative solutions for their branch transformations and the cross-channel digitalization of their processes. To achieve this, the company combines know-how from both the banking and retail sectors to produce tailored, scalable, modular solutions for postal services providers.”
Wincor Nixdorf’s counter software TPPostal is specific to post office branches and postal agencies, and can be flexibly configured to meet the requirements of a number of different branch types. It enables cross-channel transactions where a customer can prepare a shipment online, pay for it, and subsequently drop it off at the post office counter or the self-service area. This significantly shortens processing and waiting times. TPPostal is based on the retail software TP.net, which is used by more than 100 retail businesses in 70 countries around the world.
The company’s new modular postal kiosk shifts the sale of stamps and parcel labels from the counter to the self-service area. It can be individually configured to meet the demands of specific postal branches with little effort and expense, while maintaining international standards in ergonomics.
Wincor Nixdorf’s intelligent parcel drop box accepts postage-paid parcels in fewer than ten seconds and prints a customer receipt as a proof of induction, thus automating the entire parcel drop-off process cost efficiently. It is also possible to integrate the drop box in a track and trace system to enable immediate parcel tracking. The drop box’s monitoring and reporting software enables individual usage analysis.
