The UK division of global logistics provider Yusen Logistics has acquired e-commerce delivery and fulfilment specialist ILG. It is anticipated that the acquisition will result in a 12% revenue growth for the logistics company.
ILG specializes in e-commerce warehousing, fulfilment and delivery, and has specific expertise in the fashion and beauty verticals. In the past decade ILG has quadrupled its facilities, which now offer more than 175,000ft² (16,250m²) of warehousing and more than 220 employees serving over 700 clients worldwide.
Yusen Logistics UK’s expansion into e-commerce – the UK’s fastest growing sector – is a direct response to changing market behavior. The logistics firm provides full end-to-end international supply chain services, which will now give ILG and its customers additional expertise in customs brokerage, cross-border logistics, and access to a further 82 locations.
This strategic alliance connects Yusen’s services with ILG’s specialist knowledge, people and infrastructure to deliver full end-to-end B2B and B2C supply chain solutions. ILG and Yusen Logistics will seek to create seamless fulfilment and delivery operations for customers.
Andy Fitt, managing director of Yusen Logistics UK, commented, “This acquisition reinforces our commitment to continued investment in the UK and we’re delighted to be joining forces with ILG. Our businesses complement each other perfectly and together we bring a new and compelling proposition to the market.”
Mike Stephenson, managing director at ILG, added, “Partnering with Yusen Logistics represents a huge opportunity for our customers and our people. Going forward, our customers will see new, enhanced services as well as the familiar high standards of care they’ve come to expect from us.”
