Nordic postal and logistics operator Posten Bring has once again named its online store of the year at an awards ceremony in Oslo, Norway, with Klardag.no, Care of Carl and Vinmonopolet coming out on top.
This year’s ceremony marked the 19th Netthandelsprisen award, for which Posten Bring assesses and tests 1,000 online shops on four main criteria – shopping experience, business model, innovation and marketing – over six months.
‘Online Store of the Year’ is awarded across three categories: small for online stores with a turnover of up to 20m NOK (US$1.8m); medium for online shops with turnover between 20m and 250m NOK (US$1.8m-US$23.4m); and large for online stores with a turnover exceeding 250m NOK (US$23.4m).
Thomas Støkken, executive director for e-commerce and logistics at Posten Bring, commented, “2023 was a demanding year for everyone involved in online shopping in Norway, but many online stores have nevertheless succeeded well as a result of having worked very well to be able to offer the country’s best buying experience and customer service. This year’s finalists have proven that they have a good insight into the customers’ needs and the ability to take steps to improve each and every year.”
Klardag.no was named winner of the small category, Care of Carl triumphed in the medium category, and Vinmonopolet came out on top in the large online shop category.
“Klardag has distinguished itself with a strong customer focus and close customer dialog. They have a strong focus on the entire customer journey. The winner impresses with sustainable solutions in the form of less consumption of packaging and makes it easier for customers to help make environmentally conscious choices,” explained jury members Monica Solberg and Torkel Johannessen during the awards ceremony.
Care of Carl was praised for its ‘exclusive buying experience’ and ‘inspiring solutions for sustainability and the circular economy’, while Vinmonopolet was commended for ‘creating the best buying experience, which they do by continuously testing and further developing the online store’. Jury leader Kjersti Pedersen added, “They have an extraordinary understanding of the market in which they operate.”
The jury consisted of Arnulf Refsnes, CEO and co-founder of Naardic; Monica Solberg, head of experimental, Finn; Roy-André Tollefsen, head of e-commerce, Flow Solutions; Torkel Johannessen, CEO of Pearl Convert; Ingvild Moen, digital advisor social media and founder of Resonate; and jury leader Kjersti Pedersen, responsible for Bring Research at Posten Bring.
