UPS has launched a Saturday residential delivery service for customers in major Canadian cities. The UPS Standard Service comes at no extra cost to recipients and gives businesses of all sizes a reliable way to get purchases to their customers on the weekend.
According to UPS, it is the first global small package carrier in Canada to provide committed Saturday ground residential delivery of shipments from the US and within Canada at no additional cost.
“Canadian and US businesses have a great new way to create growth by serving customers with our Saturday residential delivery service,” said UPS Canada president Stephanie Dexter. “UPS is helping businesses meet customer expectations for timely, convenient deliveries. We are excited to help them grow and compete in today’s market.”
Starting in the Greater Toronto area, customers who normally receive their residential deliveries on Monday will now receive them on Saturday. The service is scheduled to be available in Montreal, Laval, Calgary and Greater Vancouver by March. Once fully implemented, the majority of Canadian addresses in metropolitan cities will be eligible to have packages delivered on Saturday.
