Customers with a BankID app in Norway will now be able to use their mobile phone to collect parcels using their digital ID card. They will also be able use the digital ID for age verification when shopping at Vinmonopolet.
The new ID card has been developed by BankID BankAxept in collaboration with Posten Bring and Vinmonopolet and is available to all users of the BankID app.
“This will make it easier, safer and, not least, faster for customers to identify themselves. Initially, it is Vinmonopolet’s customers and those who will pick up parcels at one of Posten’s serviced pickup points who can use the new services,” commented Posten Bring’s press officer, Kenneth Tjønndal Pettersen.
Throughout Norway, BankID app users can now use the service at one of Posten’s 1,600+ serviced pickup points or one of Vinmonopolet’s 347 stores.
“The advantage is that you now have everything you need in your mobile, whether you have to stop by Posten or Vinmonopolet. This is a simple and safe service to identify yourself, while closing the door on fake ID cards. You usually always have your mobile phone in your pocket, so it is always easily accessible,” explained Mads Pedersen, product manager at BankID BankAxept.
To get the new ID card in the BankID app, customers need either a Norwegian passport or a national ID card. “This is a safe and fast solution that hopefully will make everyday life a little easier for our customers,” Pettersen said.
