DHL Parcel in Germany has expanded the coverage of its time-window delivery service to cover the whole of the country, including customers located in rural areas such as Emsland and Spessart. The service helps increase convenience for online shoppers by providing a two-hour delivery window in the evening between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm.
Achim Dünnwald, CEO, DHL Parcel, said, “As the market leader in the German parcel delivery business, it is our goal to offer our services in all regions of the country and, in doing so, to make people’s lives easier. With the introduction of a nationwide evening delivery service, we are therefore setting new standards for the time-flexible receipt of parcels.”
The extended service means that retailers can now offer the time-window service to more than 44 million households. DHL expects the option to prove particularly popular with the high-growth segment of online food retailing, enabling customers to have goods delivered to their home at the end of the working day.
