Postal data company Hurricane Commerce and software company AEB (International) have collaborated on a cross-border e-commerce solution that can provide efficient, accurate, high-speed data validation for customs clearance.
AEB offers cloud-based global trade software to remove the barriers of trading across customs borders and controls. This includes a full customs platform providing direct filing for export and import declarations and access to an integrated network of customs brokers with automated data exchanges via plug-ins, APIs or file uploads or manual entry. Hurricane is a cross-border data company that provides AI-driven, real-time data solutions covering the areas of data enhancement, duty and tax calculation, prohibited and restricted goods screening and denied parties screening.
Martyn Noble, CEO of Hurricane Commerce, said, “This partnership makes total sense, especially for high-volume e-commerce customers who will benefit from the high-speed data solutions provided jointly by Hurricane and AEB. Harnessing data to streamline and automate the cross-border e-commerce journey is vital in today’s highly regulated landscape. Regulatory events in the last 18 months – including Brexit, the EU’s abolition of the VAT exemption on low-value goods, the introduction of the EU’s Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) and the greater enforcement of the US STOP Act – have meant that complete, accurate and compliant data is now a must-have for anyone wanting to succeed in global e-commerce. We are looking forward to working closely with the team at AEB to identify appropriate customer opportunities where the combination of our respective services can be most beneficial.”
Geoff Taylor, managing director of AEB (International), said, “AEB is committed to providing our customers with the best-in-class cross-border e-commerce solution. The collaboration with Hurricane Commerce, a data specialist, ensures that both our businesses continue to be at the cutting edge of meeting the requirements of the cross-border e-commerce marketplace. Together, our solution will enable frictionless cross-border trade.”
