European parcel service provider GLS has announced a strategic partnership with Chinese logistics operator SF that aims to significantly boost both companies’ cross-border distribution capabilities.
GLS customers will gain access to SF’s extensive network in China and the Pacific Rim, ensuring fast and efficient deliveries. Meanwhile, SF will strengthen its exposure to the European market by extending service capability out of Europe.
“I’m extremely proud that we have entered a partnership with SF. We have been building the interfaces during the last couple of months, and I’m pleased to say that the service level to Asia is exceptionally good and has even outperformed our expectations,” said Saadi Al-Soudani, chief international officer of IDS, which owns GLS. “This partnership enables our customers to utilize the probably most integrated and efficient express network in the entire Asian Pacific Rim.”
Key benefits of the partnership will include wider network reach, with customers gaining access to the extensive networks of both partners, enhancing distribution capabilities in Europe and Asia. Customers will also benefit from competitive rates while enjoying fast and reliable delivery services. Furthermore, the seamless alignment of systems will ensure a smooth and consistent experience driven by a shared commitment to excellence.
“We are very excited about the partnership with GLS, for we have been repeatedly impressed by how professional and resourceful GLS is in the European market,” commented Tina Wang, chief strategy officer and deputy CEO of SF. “We are extremely confident in this partnership as it will enable both parties to unlock value for customers of international express services.”
