LSO, a leading parcel carrier in the south of the USA, has announced the completion of the facility upgrade at its largest Dallas, Texas, hub.
The improvements are a part of the LSO expansion plan across its network designed to support significant customer growth in both business and e-commerce shipments.
“Our company is investing in equipment upgrades throughout the system to accommodate recent and future planned growth,” said Richard Metzler, president and CEO of LSO. “We are streamlining processes to improve the LSO customer experience for shippers and their customers.”
LSO partnered with Designed Conveyor Systems to install material handling equipment that enables direct trailer unload, less package handling and improved data integrity, resulting in a shorter sort-span.
The installment also improves productivity and increases total volume capacity. LSO has recently undertaken similar infrastructure improvements at its other Texas facilities in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Waco and Tyler, as well as its Tulsa, Oklahoma facility.
“Customers’ shipping needs have grown considerably over the past years and have changed due to the surge in e-commerce business,” said Mike Boyzuick, chief operating officer of LSO. “Our focus is to support our customers’ needs for on-time shipments and deliveries, package tracking, and overall ease of doing business.”
