DHL Express has begun construction on a 15,000m² service center in Courcelles in Belgium.
The center is expected to have a handling capacity of 3,000 packages per hour, with the loading infrastructure for 60 electric vans.
It will also be fully gasless, CO2 neutral and have rooftop solar panels. The site has been designed in line with DHL CRE Go Green guidelines and according to BREEAM standards.
Warehouse developer WDP designed the logistics center to be operationally futureproof, efficient and sustainable.
By July 2023, this new distribution center is intended to replace the current service center in Charleroi in Belgium and become DHL’s central hub in the Hainaut province.
