Egypt’s National Post Organization (ENPO) has signed a cooperation protocol with the National Organization for Social Insurance (NOSI), aimed at facilitating the payment of customers’ Insurance Authority subscriptions at post offices across the republic.
The protocol is part of the state’s framework aimed at achieving financial inclusion for various groups and facilitating their access to services. It was signed by Dr Sherif Farouk, chairman of the board of directors of ENPO, and Major General Gamal Awad, chairman of the board of directors of the ENO.
Under the protocol, customers will be able to go to their nearest post office to pay any amounts due to insurance, instead of having to go to the insurance headquarters that may be far from home.
Dr Farouk said, “This protocol confirms the concerted efforts of state institutions to facilitate citizens and provide them with a reliable electronic payment and collection system that contributes to reducing the circulation of banknotes between individuals and government agencies and transforming society into a society less dependent on cash.”
Major Awad added, “This agreement comes within the framework of closer cooperation between the two parties to develop methods of collecting insurance contributions through modern electronic systems in order to facilitate all those dealing with the insurance system.”
