Nordic fashion retailer Kappahl Group has chosen Vanderlande to automate its new 34,000m2 logistics center in Sweden with the Fastpick solution.
The new facility is expected to go live in June 2026 and is part of Kappahl Group’s strategy to modernize logistics operations and manage business growth. Vanderlande’s solution will help the company increase capacity and provides the opportunity to scale up in the future.
The new logistics center will improve service levels for Kappahl’s online customer base across Europe and Asia, as well as its network of 330 stores in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland and the UK.
Vanderlande’s Fastpick solution includes its Adapto automated storage and retrieval system – 159 Adapto shuttles will access 86,000 storage locations across 28 aisles, before moving items to 16 ergonomic goods-to-person picking stations.
To ensure complete efficiency, an inbound and outbound High Dynamic Storage buffer system is included in the design. Products arriving on a hanger will be handled by Vanderlande’s Airtrax system. Goods will leave the logistics center via retail and e-commerce shipping sorters in totes, polybags or cartons.
“Vanderlande’s solution will provide the efficiency and capacity we need to fulfill our growth ambitions,” said Eva Meding, logistics manager at Kappahl Group. “In addition, we will be in a position to deliver an even better level of service for our customers and stores as we improve our sustainable logistics flow.”
James Cotton, Vanderlande’s executive managing director for warehouse solutions, added, “We are excited to embark on this new partnership with Kappahl Group. The solid relationship we’ve established with their team has been key in delivering an optimal solution, and we’re committed to supporting their continued success.”
