Nordic postal and logistics operator PostNord has awarded Lockheed Martin a new three-year contract to continue support its cutting-edge mail sorting solution, Gemensam Läs Plattform (GLP).
According to Lockheed, this contract will maintain a flexible operation for PostNord across Sweden using the company’s Next Generation Sortation Platform (NGSP), mail piece image analysis, address matching, smart sort decision making and mailpiece attributes resolution using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
“We are proud to support PostNord’s drive to enhance its mail and parcel service with postal technologies and services that drive flexibility and value for money,” said Emlyn Taylor, group managing director of Lockheed Martin’s rotary and mission systems business. “PostNord is committed to developing long-term relationships – we have a similar mindset and are honored to see our successful partnership extend into its second decade.”
Magnus Lundin, head of machines and maintenance at PostNord, added, “PostNord is very pleased to have secured a new three-year contract for the support and development of one of the most important production systems for its mail and parcel business.”
Lockheed Martin has worked in partnership with postal and logistics operators around the world for more than half a century to deliver more than 500 mail and material handling systems, helping to sort more than a quarter of the world’s letter mail.
