Independent software vendor The Information Factory is launching the [i]platform at POST-EXPO 2018.
The new platform is a plug and play approach to software development, combining the unique features and flexibility that custom built solutions offer with the convenience and price advantage provided by off-the-shelf packages.
The[i]platform is designed to support a broad range of requirements such as digitalization, data analytics, automation, workflow and forecasting.
At its official launch at POST-EXPO 2018, The Information Factory is showcasing the platform’s effectiveness with logistics solutions such as tender management, dynamic pricing and sales planning.
Robert Jordan, CEO at The Information Factory, said, “Contained within the[i]platform is a range of pre-built, tested and ready to go components that lets us focus on what really matters; developing the unique software features demanded by our customers at speed and with consistently high product quality.”
After progressing the idea from concept to production, the[i]platform has been successfully tested in a live environment with two logistics clients.
The recent surge in the quantity of data available to postal, logistics and express companies prompted development of the[i]platform. While the information generated by newly available data is valuable, is can become overwhelming in large volumes if not harnessed effectively.
Gordon Steward, marketing director at The Information Factory and manning the company’s stand at POST-EXPO, commented, “The Information Factory has been building a library of software components for a long time, and last year we decided to make our offering official.
“It is often difficult for customers to visualize software and articulate what exactly they need. We show our platform’s basic offering and work with customers to tailor it to their requirements. Even today at POST-EXPO, a potential client came to our stand with a new issue that we haven’t tackled before, but the flexibility of our software means we can adapt to different needs.”
The[i]platform strives to serve as an answer to this problem by consolidating and organizing data from sources such as ERP and CRM systems and data warehouses, creating information and insights that can help with decision-making in the workplace.
