Australia Post has opened its latest post office superstore in Hervey Bay, Queensland, in an attempt to provide Australian customers with more modern postal services.
The A$500,000 (US$365,000) investment will provide local customers and businesses with access to self-service postal services 24/7, including postal lockers and terminals for paying bills, purchasing products and sending letters or parcels. During store opening hours, customers will also have access to identity and passport services, foreign exchange services and financial services including bill payments and banking.
Anita Britcher, regional manager retail services Queensland, Australia Post, said, “Online shopping in Australia continues to grow so the introduction of a superstore in Hervey Bay provides shoppers with access to postal services six days a week in a new, modern environment.
“Our customers’ needs have changed substantially over time and this superstore is another great example of how we’re changing to meet those needs, investing in the community and demonstrating our commitment to regional Queensland.
“The new superstore features a state-of-the-art design and an extensive range of postal products and services, including a 24/7 zone and parcel lockers to make it even easier for customers to pick up parcels at a time that suits them.”
