DHL Express will be able to better support local businesses and drive growth in Cornwall and Devon thanks to a new £5.5m (US$7.1m) service center in Newquay.
The 2,250m2 site will be able to handle 5,200 items every week, helping DHL Express to keep up with the growth in package deliveries from its customers as well as the number of consumers and businesses receiving parcels.
The new carbon-neutral facility has strong sustainability credentials – it benefits from solar panels, LED lighting and low-use water appliances. The site also offers EV chargers for staff and visitors.
Its customer reception will provide consumers and businesses with direct access to DHL Express services, enabling the collection and sending of parcels directly from the new site.
Lee McMahon, service center manager, DHL Express, commented, “We are delighted to be expanding our services with the opening of this new service center in Newquay. This investment showcases our commitment to providing more efficient delivery services to customers across the region, helping to support local residents and businesses on their growth journey.”
