Parcel shop operator Doddle has opened its latest store at London King’s Cross train station in the UK, providing convenient parcel collection and return services for more than 47 million travelers annually.
Doddle, a joint venture between entrepreneur Lloyd Dorfman and Network Rail, has opened 38 parcel shops in less than 12 months with over 60,000 people signed up to the service. Doddle is one of the only services in the UK that accepts delivery of shoppers’ online purchases from any retailer or carrier. The new store will be open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Sunday and Bank Holidays from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Tim Robinson, CEO for Doddle, said, “The opening of our King’s Cross store means Doddle has now dominated half of the mainline London train stations on the Monopoly board.
“King’s Cross is a brilliant location for a Doddle store to reach record passenger numbers and a large population of workers who aren’t at home to accept deliveries during the day. We’re delighted to have secured such a prime location right in the path of more than 47 million people every year and look forward to changing the way the local population send and receive parcels.”
To make use of the new Doddle service, shoppers can sign up for free in store, on the website or by downloading the free Doddle app for iOS and Android. As a special opening offer, King’s Cross customers can collect up to 20 parcels and send 20 parcels for free until September 12, 2015.
